READING HINTS
1. HOW TO CHOOSE A BOOK. Open the book to any full page of print. Start reading. Put up a finger each time you find a word , other than a proper noun, that you do not know. If you run out of fingers on one hand before you run out of page, the vocabulary in the book in too difficult. You will find the book frustrating. If you have fingers left when you get to the end on the page, the book is on yourt reading level.
2. Read every day. To become a better reader you must read.
3. As you read, you should imagine a movie of the story in your mind. If the movie stops, reread to get it to start again.
4. Tell someone about what you are reading. If you are reading a textbook, explain what you are reading to someone.
